About the role:


In this role we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manager to join our Data & Analytics team to lead and oversee multiple squads of engineers and developers delivering value-focused outcomes for Uniting.

This critical role will be responsible for driving the development and execution of reporting and advanced analytics initiatives, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and leveraging data-driven insights to support our mission.

This role will provide leadership and direction to the organisation and make a real difference in the lives of tens of thousands of vulnerable Australians by guiding the design and delivery of Data & Analytics products to enable informed business decisions across Uniting.


About You in the role:


Experience:

Typically, this role will require 8 or more years of experience in your field of expertise. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be organised, systematic, thorough, accurate and disciplined.

You will continue to develop in your area of expertise and be expected to provide innovative ideas to solve problems in your discipline.

You are expected to develop good skills in navigating a complex organisation, forging relationships, and managing through influence.


Skills:


  • Excellent business acumen and interpersonal skills; able to work across business lines to influence and effect change to achieve common goals
  • Solid understanding of data governance, data quality, and data management practices
  • Proven data literacy, the ability to describe business use cases/outcomes, data sources and management concepts, and analytical approaches/options. The ability to translate among the languages used by the executive, business, and IT stakeholders
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain digital concepts and technologies to business leaders and business concepts to technologists
  • Experience in a large organisation in a related capacity
  • Experience managing delivery teams, using agile methodology and with complex stakeholder management
  • Ability to project manage a portfolio of work, with demonstrated ability to optimise the work within a portfolio, develop project plans and report to stakeholders

Qualifications:


Bachelor qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience, ideally a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, or related field.

A master's degree is preferred.
