We are seeking Community Disability Support Workers who are passionate and focused in facilitating and supporting people living with a disability in achieving individual goals, personal development and strengthening their existing skills, abilities, and confidence by accessing services operated by mecwacare.
What you bring:
- Certificate IV in Disability or equivalent (or presently studying to achieve a qualification in Disability Studies);
- Level 2 First Aid Certificate
- Experience working with people with disabilities from diverse backgrounds;
- A flexible and 'can do' attitude in assisting people with a disability to form and maintain meaningful relationships and connections within their communities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for networking with participants, families and the community sector;
- A strong understanding of NDIS Code of Conduct and Best Practice Standards.
- Current Victorian Driver's License to transport community participants to include community participation
- NDIS Worker Screening
Desirable:
- Ability to manage and maintain daily observations and daily documentation
- An understanding or a desire to learn the principles of personcentered planning and experience in transforming plans into actions.
