About the role


We are seeking a Tenancy Plus Support Worker to join our Tenancy Plus Program Tenancy Plus is a government funded program aimed to provide support for Social Housing tenants to establish successful tenancies.

Additionally, you will provide direct service delivery to at-risk social housing tenants to prevent homelessness and establish social housing tenancies for those who reside in the Brimbank, Melton, Hobsons Bay and Wyndham Local Government Areas.

Responsibilities include

  • Tenants have increased awareness of support available to assist them to maintain appropriate accommodation
  • Tenants are provided with a rapid response to address the families immediate housing needs
  • Tenants will be selfreliant and able to access services as required through self
- referral

  • Alleviate the risk of tenancy failure
  • New public housing tenancies are well established to appropriate supports
This is a permanent full-time position, based in Sunshine, VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance to the SCHADS Level 5 Award.

You will have

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work or related community service field.
  • Experienced with working with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities
  • Demonstrate knowledge of homelessness including context, causes, issues, philosophies and legislation
  • Applies homelessness models, approaches, theories and practices when dealing with clients
  • Ability to respond to the needs of individuals experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness
