We are building a $500 million glass manufacturing and remanufacturing facility in Yatala just south of Brisbane.

The factory represents the large investment we have ever made, we recycle up to 200,000 tonnes of Queensland's glass annually to produce 1 billion bottles a year.

We are building next to our box factory and beverage can plant, this will create a beverage container precinct to further support of customers and a range of new career pathways for our staff.

The project is expected to be operational in 2025.


The Opportunity:


Reporting to the Reliability and Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the efficient operation of all plant electrical, process control and computer systems equipment.

This position will commence working in our South Brisbane factory.

As the build progresses you will spend an increasing amount of time in Yatala where this role will be based.


Responsibilities:


  • Electrical design, investigation, and analysis expertise for supporting and improving all electrical systems in the plant, with the objective of optimising reliability, safety, productivity, efficiency, and environmental impact.
  • Leading performance, development, attendance and behaviours of the electrical maintenance team; promoting Visy values within the team and across the plant.
  • Direct supervision across a multi skilled electrical team along with contractors when engaged. Recruiting, training, coaching, and developing this team to address planned, unplanned breakdowns and preventative maintenance.
  • Ensuring that all statutory and company safety and quality standards are implemented as appropriate and adhered to by all team members.
  • Contributing to the reduction of plant downtime, working closely with relevant reliability and production teams to coordinate the breakdown maintenance of plant electrical services and process control systems.
  • Project managing new system installations and modifications (including PER preparation), including the provision of labour, materials and other resources, to ensure project cost allocation is not exceeded and timelines are met.
  • Controlling labour, equipment and maintenance costs whilst ensuring the availability of adequate change parts and consumables.
  • Ensuring the development, implementation and maintenance of appropriate maintenance policies and packages for critical Plant Maintenance equipment in SAP.

What you will bring to the team:

  • A diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong leadership skills with at least 5 years' experience in a continuous process plant supervisory engineering role.
  • Experience in the supervision and facilitation in a continuous improvement environment.
  • Strong computer skills with previous experience using CMMS systems.
  • Well versed in all maintenance processes and workplace health and safety regulations.
  • Experience in glass manufacturing and A Grade electrical license would be beneficial.
