The Role

If you are a dynamic, client-focused Registered Nurse with a minimum of 24 months post graduate nursing experience in a mental health setting and you are ready for your next challenge, we invite you to join our friendly, diverse team


You are an experienced and enthusiastic clinician, and will provide high quality assessment, intensive case management services and assertive outreach support to people experiencing mental ill health utilising a recovery-oriented model of care.


MMSTS offers community recovery orientated services, consultation, assessment and treatment and support to people with experiencing mental ill health, their carers and families, between the ages of 16 and 64 who live in the Municipalities of Maroondah, Knox and Yarra Ranges seven days per week.


MMSTS is co-located with the Murnong, Yarra Ranges Continuing Care Teams, Maroondah Psychiatric Assessment Recovery Centre (PARC), Brief Intervention Team (BIT), Maroondah Community Care Units, at the Murnong Clinic in Ringwood East.

The position will be in MMST until February 2023 and then in a comparable role in the Mental Health and Wellbeing Program.

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess skills in

Undertaking case management and service coordination for consumers within the MMSTS.

Liaison and interface between multiple services.

Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments, including discipline specific assessments and interventions.

Commitment to supervised practice, ongoing professional development and further developing skills in clinical mental health.

Practice in accordance with the recovery principles as outlined in the 'Framework for recovery-oriented practice" (Department of Health 2011).

Work a 7-day rotational roster, 365 days per year, two shifts within the hours 8.30am - 8.30pm

Completion of or enrolment in a relevant post graduate mental health qualification

Selection Criteria


Essential:

As a Registered Nurse:

A current annual Registration in Division 1 issued by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
A minimum 24 months post graduate nursing experience in a mental health setting.
Completion of or enrolment in a relevant post graduate mental health qualificat


Desirable:
Desirable: Post Graduate qualifications relevant to the position or working towards.
Previous experience in a supervisory or case management role. Knowledge of and experience working with the Collaborative Recovery Model.

An understanding of the role of a Mental Health Nurse in an intensive role and demonstrated ability to provide a range of recovery orientated services within a demanding work environment, to people with a mental illness.
