EL 1 Assistant Manager - Policy

Location:
Canberra, ACT


Contract length: 18-Month Contract with an extension option

Hourly Rate:
$65p/h + Super and higher

***As the Assistant Manager, EL1 (Policy) you will be responsible for leading the interaction with stakeholders to ensure the design a new scheme that meets the Australian Government's objectives. This includes developing submissions, proposals, costings, and other supporting materials for consideration by the Government.


Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work independently under pressure in a busy environment are crucial, as is the ability to undertake tasks independently and assist others where required for the purpose of achieving business outcomes and deliverables.


Key Duties:

  • Lead interaction with stakeholders including state and territory representatives, industry and consumer peak bodies, and other Commonwealth Government agencies to ensure the design of the scheme to meets the Government's objectives, balances a range of stakeholder interests, and reflects bestpractice.
  • Lead and supervise the preparation and dissemination of a range of documents, including briefings and advice for Ministers and senior executives to convey complex information concisely and with clarity.
  • Develop submissions, proposals, costings and other supporting materials for consideration by Government.
  • Undertake research and analysis, and develop advice, guidance, reports, briefs and correspondence including to identify and contribute to team objectives.
  • Guide, develop and mentor team members including identifying development opportunities and providing feedback.


The Assistant Manager, EL1 (Policy) position is currently a full-time role, but flexible and part-time work options may be discussed.
