Power Research and Development is building a pumped hydro and solar power station for the town of Walpole, in partnership with Western Power and supported by the state government Clean Energy Future Fund.

Backed by decades of leading industry experience, we are also undertaking research and development for clean energy technology. Our Walpole project uses our innovative and world-first systems developed in-house.

The role is for a permanent full-time employee with remuneration determined by demonstrated proficiency. We have an enjoyable and flexible work environment with a casual office space in Bibra Lake.


POSITION DUTIES

  • Implementing control systems including developing schedules, diagrams, and collaborating on control philosophy and functional descriptions (with guidance, if needed)
  • Researching and procurement of control and other equipment
  • Programming of RTAC and control devices, following best practices
  • Commissioning of control systems and supervision of commissioning support personnel
  • Project planning and scheduling, work diligently to critical project timelines
  • Liaising with external consultants
  • Liaising with Western Power for control and protection interfaces

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Degree qualification in a related field or trade qualification with practical experience in a related field (28 years preferred)
  • General computer skills and proficiency
  • Essential understanding of engineering standards and rules
