The Opportunity

Reporting into the Head of Engineering, as a commercial fleet manager you will be responsible for ensuring all light and heavy commercial vehicles and operational processes around these vehicles are fit for purpose.

You will also ensure these processes are compliant with Pacific National policies, meet external statutory requirements, operate within budgets and are achieving planned commercial, governance and continuous improvement outcomes.

This position is the key interface between multiple functions across the company and is responsible for delivery of day to day operational, commercial, compliance and administration of Pacific Nationals fleet management.

Key responsibilities include:

Lead the review and development of ongoing commercial vehicle programs
Manages the ongoing operational performance management of fleet management provider contracts, ensuring contracted KPI's, SLA's and obligations are being met
Liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders to support the management of the Pacific National fleet.
Develop and report key metrics, analytics and insights to key business stakeholders to support informed decision making
Develop a national fleet plan including a structured replacement schedule in consultation with internal and external stakeholders and in line with budget requirements.
Conduct fleet vehicle risk assessments and demonstrate evidence of safety compliance and fit for purpose requirements

About You:

To succeed in this role, you will be a flexible and agile leader who possesses strong influential, negotiation and consultative skills to shape pragmatic outcomes.

You will have strong mechanical, commercial, and analytical skills with experience in improving business practices and performance.

In addition, you'll be expected to demonstrate:

Relevant tertiary or trade qualification (Engineering, Mechanical preferable).
Extensive highlevel relevant experience in the discipline.
Fleet Management experience (ideally including exposure to Heavy and Light Commercial vehicles).
Demonstrated understanding of fleet management best practice, policies and procedures
An understanding of the Australian automotive landscape (OEM, dealer & aftermarket)
Ability to build effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders at all organisational levels
Strong communication and influencing skills verbal and written
Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise
High Attention to detail
Strong Commercial acumen
Strong analytical and system skills including MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Fleet & Telematics systems
