Salary: $2,796 to $3,769 per fortnight (based on 70 hours per fortnight) plus superannuation and a nine day fortnight. A leaseback vehicle will also be offered.

We're seeking a motivated and experienced Tree Management Officer to join our Tree Management Team
About us
Hornsby Shire is located on Sydney's upper north shore, approximately 25 kilometres north of the CBD. Known as the 'Bushland Shire', our local government area is characterised by bushland comprising national park, major waterways, natural reserves and rural landscape. The rest of the Shire combines urban, rural and open spaces.
About the role
This team ensures reliable urban tree management for the community, with an emphasis on efficiency for customer service requests, tree applications and assessment of development applications, and effectively enforcing Council's Tree Preservation Measures and its related policies.
Reporting to the Tree Management Coordinator, you will provide accurate and effective technical assessment and recommendations relating to tree management and public risk matters and have an understanding of Australian Standards AS Protection of trees on development sites and AS pruning of amenity trees.
About you
To be successful in this role you'll have a Diploma in Arboriculture (AQF5) as well as demonstrated experience in arboricultural techniques including tree assessment within a public service environment.
