The Role

In this role, you will be part of a dedicated team providing inpatient services in General Surgery, General Medicine, Paediatrics, and O&G.

The Emergency Department handles a wide range of patient cases, from minor acute pathologies to major resuscitations across all age groups.

You will collaborate with experienced Consultants in Emergency Medicine, who have diverse interests including toxicology, ultrasound, simulation, advanced airway management, and education.

This position offers the chance to instruct on courses such as ALS, EMST, ETM, APLS, and Neonatal resuscitation.

The work is dynamic and hands-on, with opportunities to be involved in critical care, inter-hospital transfers, toxicology cases, procedural sedation, and airway management, providing a varied, challenging, and rewarding clinical experience.

The Hospital

Originally opening in 1988, as a 32-bed hospital the facility now operates with 206 beds and in 2020 the WA Government announced the full operation of the facility will transfer to public hands.


The Requirements

  • Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM) or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge, clinical experience, judgement and skills in the practice of emergency medicine including in associated diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical teaching, audit and clinical research.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, facilitate effective multidisciplinary teamwork.
  • Demonstrated high level communication, interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
