We are seeking a skilled Theatre Floor Coordinator who is a registered nurse to join this well-known Hospital in the lively city of Brisbane.
As a Registered Nurse - Theatre Floor Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of the hospital's theatres and contribute to delivering top-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilise your nursing expertise to coordinate and manage surgical schedules, ensuring optimal utilisation of resources and mínimal procedure delays.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nursing staff, and other stakeholders to facilitate clear communication and efficient coordination.
- Oversee the preparation of operating rooms, verifying their adherence to sterility and equipment requirements.
- Manage and maintain the inventory of surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment, taking the lead on reordering as needed.
- Champion infection control protocols and uphold safety standards within the theatre environment.
- Provide guidance, training, and supervision to theatre support staff, fostering a cohesive and proficient team.
- Act as a conduit between theatre staff and hospital administration, conveying updates and ensuring a smooth information flow.
- Address logístical and operational challenges that may arise during surgical procedures, demonstrating your resourcefulness in finding effective solutions.
- Contribute to quality enhancement initiatives by participating in audits, process evaluations, and implementing best practices.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Current registration as a Nurse
- Substantial experience in a healthcare setting, with a focus on theatre coordination or management.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate across diverse teams.
- Indepth knowledge of surgical procedures, equipment, and sterile techniques.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations, safety guidelines, and infection control measures.
- Proficiency in using scheduling software and inventory management tools.
- Leadership acumen coupled with a proactive approach to problemsolving.
- Preferred: Additional qualifications in healthcare administration or a related field.
