Founded by former senator Nick Xenophon and investigative journalist Mark Davis in 2019, Xenophon Davis has established itself as a leading public interest law firm in Australia.

The team works across diverse civil litigation areas including defamation, whistleblower litigation, tort law and environmental law.


XD has represented and continues to represent independent media and citizen journalists, whistleblowers, activists and survivors of abuses of power.

ABOUT THE POSITION
The firm is looking for a tenacious Operations Assistant with experience in a litigation or professional services environment.

As a Operations Assistant with XD, you'll be responsible for:

- managing and reviewing financial workflows in the areas of billing, WIP and expense management
- preparing monthly reconciliations and liaising with external consultants and the ATO and ASIC
- managing XD's trust accounts including preparing receipts and reconciliations
- data entry for record keeping and updating client databases
- managing pay roll and leave for the team
- processing and submitting expense claims
- assisting XD's Partners with creating, amending and finalising of client invoices and associated client reporting


The position offers a high level of autonomy and is well suited for a hardworking, self-motivated individual who wants an opportunity to assist a legal team in thinking creatively, designing and implementing strategic litigation actions and building strong relationships with clients and colleagues.


IDEALLY, YOU HAVE:


  • 2+ years office administration experience
  • Experience working in a litigation environment
  • Strong client and relationship building skills
  • IT savvy with demonstrated proficiency and confidence using Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, accounting and legal matter management systems
  • Excellent organisation skills and an ability to multitask
  • Strong sense of initiative and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
