We have an immediate requirement for Electrical Designers to join our office in Murarrie on a permanent basis.

As this is a permanent role, applicants either need to live locally or be willing to relocate - we would be happy to discuss relocation costs from anywhere in Australia.

Reporting to the Engineer Manager/Lead, you will be responsible for carrying out a range of activities including but not limited to;

Main responsibilities:

Electrical engineering design and drafting functions for ELV/LV/MV AC & DC Systems, such as Distribution Single Line diagrams, Schematics & Termination diagrams, Electrical Layout diagrams, Conversion/Integration of Vendor diagrams.
Design of cable routes, trenches and pits, cable sizing, cable support systems
Detail design and drafting of low, medium voltage Switchboards/Control Panels
Design of general lighting, power, and ancillary services
Understanding and interpreting P&ID's, termination drawings, loop diagrams and wiring schematics
Preparation of design documentation including schedules, drawings, workpacks and manuals
Prepare and check drawings of designs relating to plant, equipment, services or other facilities or structures.
Review completed designs for accuracy against detailed specifications covering aspects of technical, safety, environmental, quality and cost requirements and ensuring they comply with relevant design standards and regulations.
Be able to effectively communicate RFI's and drawing submissions.
Prepare & create design documentation in accordance with associated client deliverables.
Drafting redline markups from the field.
Able to write accurate technical reports.

Experience, skills, and qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years' experience specifically as an Electrical Designer working within the Mining & Minerals, Oil & Gas or Energy industries.
Advanced Diploma of Engineering Technology-Electrical or Electrical Tradesperson who can demonstrate equivalent experience.
Advanced computer skills in AutoCAD/Solid Works.
3D Modelling experience desirable.
Strong understanding of ELV/LV/HV AC & DC electrical distribution and control systems
Knowledge of PLC/SCADA/DCS systems design desirable.
Detailed knowledge of design quality assurance processes.
Ability to work to defined budgets and schedules.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high performing environment.
Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
Flexible attitude and sound work ethic.
High attention to detail.
