About the role
***As a Purchasing officer, you will be responsible for executing purchasing plans to support the sales activities of the business while controlling inventory value.


Key responsibilities will include:


  • Execute purchasing plans to support the sales activities of the business and ensure that they conform with the company purchasing policy and process.
  • Follow up with vendors on placed purchase orders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Negotiate pricing with existing vendors.
  • Review of requisition sheet to determine distribution actions across the various branches.
  • Ensure that appropriate and timely communication is used when Continuity of Supply is at risk or queries to supply are raised from other departments.
  • Ensure that stockout reports and reviews are run to ensure appropriate communication of risk items are distributed through the business as required.
  • Liaise with all key stakeholders internal and external to ensure that any issues are addressed in a timely manner.

The successful applicant will demonstrate:


  • Previous experience in Purchasing or demand planning role.
  • Purchasing, experience related to overseas procurement with focus on Asia/ Europe/ US
  • Experience in Microsoft Navision ERP or Comparable ERP platform
  • Strong Analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Excellent communication Skills both written and verbal
  • Demand planning/ forecasting experience
  • APICS accreditation in CPIM modules (Not Essential but Highly regarded)
