Job Description:


Exiting opportunity for an Assistant Geotechnician to perform testing of construction materials through destructive and non-destructive testing techniques, while providing a safe, efficient and high quality testing service to our clients.


This role requires flexibility to work in remote locations, including regional laboratories and client project sites anywhere in Western Australia.


Some responsibilities include:

  • Performing field testing on construction materials, such as soil, aggregate, and concrete, to ensure compliance with industry standards and building codes.
  • Conducting laboratory testing on construction materials, such as soil, aggregate, and concrete, to determine their physical properties.
  • Analysing test data and preparing reports on the results of testing and inspections.
  • Communicating test results to laboratory supervisors and senior geotechnicians.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, such as Australian Standards and Main Roads WA.
  • Reviewing and interpreting geotechnical reports.
  • Participating in site investigations and soil sampling
  • Performing calculations and analysis on construction materials.
  • Maintaining and checking testing equipment.
  • Keeping accurate records and documentation of all testing and inspections.
  • Log samples into the LIMS
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and working areas.
  • Ensure safe working practices are followed.

Qualifications:


  • Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques (desirable)
  • Previous experience working within a laboratory environment (desirable)
  • Ability to accurately document and understand test results and numbers
  • Australian Drivers Licence
  • Flexibility and availability to work in remote locations
  • Willingness to perform manual tasks in the laboratory and onsite
