THE ROLE


The Scheduler has a vital role in scheduling the supervision and transportation of children to and from their family contact, as required by court orders made by the Children's Court.

All work is undertaken within the framework of Child Protection legislation, practice guidelines and best interest principles


ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

  • Accept screened Child Protection referrals from the Family Contact and Support Unit (FC&S) Team Manager for cases where a FC&S Case Support Worker is required to facilitate a transport and/or contact between children and their families, whilst the children are placed in out of home care.
  • Allocate referrals to case support workers, whilst ensuring resources are also booked, such as access rooms, cars etc.
  • Receive and facilitate communication between families, child protection practitioners and carers in regard to referrals managed by the unit.
