In this role, you will be required to take a hands-on approach to developing and maintaining strong working relationships with government owned transport entities (including port government owned corporations, Queensland Rail, and Transmax), and lead your team in managing relevant initiatives designed to shape key strategies, policies and plans for an integrated transport system across Queensland, with specific relevance to ports.


Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the team to review and analyse the planning and performance of government owned transport entities in meeting Ministerial and departmentalexpectations and relevant transport legislative requirements arising from the Transport Infrastructure Act 1994, Government Owned Corporations Act 1993, Queensland Rail Transit Authority Act 2013, and Sustainable Ports Development Act 2015. Preparing, reviewing and overseeing the development of executive-level briefing notes, reports, submissions and other correspondence in accordance with departmental standards to effectively brief Shareholding Ministers and senior executives on performance of transport entities and the progress of various policy initiatives and projects. Leading the development and implementation of strategic transport policies, plans and strategies across a range of issues relating to an integrated transport system ensuring consistency with sustainable, efficient and integrated port operations. Actively leading and mentoring team members during consultation with internal and external government agencies, government-owned transport entities and industry on policy issues, operations and legislative reforms in the governmentowned transport entities sector. Building and fostering lasting relationships within TMR and with external stakeholders, including senior representatives of relevant state and Australian government agencies, port corporations and the Queensland Ports Association, ensuring Queensland's policy positions are reflected in state and national policy agendas.
