About the job


An exciting opportunity currently exists for a skilled and experienced individual to join our dynamic and talented team based at the HQ in Booragoon with Garden City at your doorstep.


As our Customer & Supply Chain Officer, you will provide support in the management of sales of alumina, NMA chemical, aluminium and bauxite commodities across Alcoa's customer base throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Additionally, you will be responsible for the co-ordination and execution of all commercial commodity purchases and sales contracts, import and export administration and documentation, shipment bookings and input to inventory allocations.


With your excellent service & detail-oriented approach, all Alcoa's external and internal customers across the Asia Pacific will have accurate and timely information provided on process sales orders and issued invoices, whilst you ensure all credit and compliance reviews are completed.


Additional key tasks will include:

  • Ensuring the successful and on time performance of Alcoa's commercial contract obligations specifically related to Alcoa's sales and trade activities across Asia Pacific.
  • Seeking out process improvement opportunities and removal of nonvalue added processes.
  • Contributing to global alignment between regions as per company requirements.
  • Leading the preparation and coordination of all documents required for successful sales or purchases.
  • Attending and contributing to forecast meetings for all logistics and delivery requirements covering all commodities produced by Alcoa's Australian operations.
  • Providing up to date and accurate information and reports to the business as required.
  • Working directly with Alcoa's customers to ensure on time collections of all sales revenue in a portfolio valued up to US$3 billion dollars each year.
  • Providing support to internal, external and any international country specific audit requirements.
  • Meeting auditing requirements (SOX testing & internal controls) throughout the business units across the Pacific region
About you

To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:

  • Experience working within a similar role within international trade / Supply Chain.
  • International containerised logistics experience (desirable).
  • Financial acumen & excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and time management.
  • Experience using EBS Oracle or similar system.
  • An ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and problem solve independently.
  • A flexible approach to work that is adaptable along with having a proactive mindset.
