If you are a Registered or Clinical Psychologist, Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, or Better Access to Mental Health (BAMH) Endorsed Occupational Therapist with a Medicare provider number, then consider joining us at
headspace Port Adelaide
As a Youth Mental Health Clinician - Private Practice, you will provide focused psychological strategies to young people aged 12-25 years old with mild to moderate mental health concerns, under Medicare's Better Access initiative.
Private practitioners will be provided with the following:
- Ongoing Medicare referrals from both our own co-located General Practitioners and our partner General Practices in the community
- Use of a youthfriendly waiting room and consultation room
- Reception and administration support
- Infrastructure such as wireless Internet, telephone, and photocopier/fax
- Collegial support from a vibrant multidisciplinary team
- Opportunities to participate in professional development activities
- Flexibility in negotiating number of sessions per day and working hours
In return, private practitioners will be required to:
- Independently process Medicare bulk-billing
- Keep 100% of your Medicare earnings
- Provide bulkbilled services to referred young people (without upfront or copayment)
- Maintain electronic client records and data collection inline with Medicare Australia and organizational guidelines
- Obtain their own ABN and personal professional indemnity insurance
- Undergo a DHS Working with Children Check
What you need to bring
Essential
You must be one of the following:
- A psychologist who is registered without limitation as a person who may
or Territory in which the service is provided
- OR a social worker who has membership of the Australian Association of
standards for mental health set out in the document published by AASW
titled 'Practice Standards for Mental Health Social Workers', as in force
on 8 November 200- OR an occupational therapist who is registered as a person who may
provide that kind of service under the applicable law in force in the State
or Territory in which the service is provided
- AND has a Medicare Provider number
- AND has or is willing to obtain an ABN and personal and professional
- Valid Department of Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check (previously known as 'Child-Related Employment Screening Clearance')
- Ability to comply with COVID19 vaccination requirements
