The key responsibility of this role is to ensure that cleaning and production standards are maintained across a number of Food Production Facilities in and around Sydney.

WHO WE NEED?


Challenger is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Operations Manager for our food production division, to oversee the cleaning and production standards of our outsourced teams across multiple food production sites in and around Sydney.

In this hands-on role, you will ensure our teams are working productively to a high level of safety and are delivering energetic and efficient food production outcomes, based on our award-winning standards and our client's needs.


YOUR GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assisting with:

  • Monitoring and mentoring the operations teams to Challenger standards and expectations
  • Complying with Challenger Business Management Systems, Policies and Procedures. This includes quality audits, staff training, compliance, environmental impact and WHS risk assessments
  • Maintaining service delivery standards in line with client contractual requirements and meeting customer expectations
  • Establishing a line of communication with clients in consultation with supervisors and our management team
  • A handson approach to management of staff and general duties
  • Monitoring and managing staff performance
  • Presentation of new ideas to the NSW State Operations Manager, General Manager
  • Operations, and Director to improve operations and further company growth
  • Reviewing, checking and approving monthly material and manpower requisitions for sites
  • Allocating work to the food production and cleaning teams across multiple sites, keeping within the specified detail of the contracts, budgets and working principles
  • Ensuring that all daytoday aspects of delivering cleaning and food production services are achieved within the contract specifications and agreed performance targets
  • Planning staff rosters and managing staff hours worked, including managing sickness and annual leave to ensure appropriate coverage and that staff are paid correctly
WHAT YOU'LL NEED?

To be considered for this role, it's expected that you will:

  • Have previous experience managing teams in the food production environment
  • Experience in managing teams across multiple sites will be highly regarded
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Proficient computer literacy, particularly with Excel and Word
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills
  • Have your own reliable car and current driver's license
  • Have knowledge of HACCP as this will be highly regarded
  • Be flexible and available to work across variable schedules
  • Have a good understanding of the safety elements associated with the food production environment
  • Ambition and solid work ethic as this is a role where the right person can grow and develop their career
