We are hiring at Now Book It for a Product Owner to join our growing team in Australia

Please note:
This role is a 12-month fixed-term contract with the possibility of a continued full-time position.

Now Book It is a powerful and innovative online reservation system thousands of restaurants use.

It's designed to provide greater control over restaurants and their reservations and to be intuitive and easy to use by our customers and their customers.

We are looking for a product owner who is a blend of business and technical savvy to join our team.

You will have the ability to motivate and empower cross-functional teams and have the responsibility of managing the product roadmap and backlog output in line with the business's strategic direction.


Now Book It is a leading restaurant reservation software development company, looking for passionate, enthusiastic, and proactive developers. We have grown from a team of 3 to 30 in the last 3 years with no sign of stopping as we expand into international markets.

By implementing industry best practices, Aspire delivers a time-sensitive integration process, and the operation of a decentralized model has allowed it to become a hub for creating rapid growth by reinvesting in its portfolio.


What your day will look like:

  • Responsible for the end-to-end execution of business initiatives, from discovery (R&D) to delivery
  • Managing and prioritising a backlog of initiatives to deliver on quarterly objectives
  • Working across the broader business to prioritise new items for the backlog, working with the Head of Product to ensure initiatives align with the Customer experience and business needs
  • Working closely with the engineering, customer service, sales teams, and stakeholders to ensure that business case and customer satisfaction goals are met
  • Overseeing a Product team (BA's, UI/UX) and working closely alongside QA to always ensure product quality
  • Communicating and rationalising product design decisions to a wide audience, as well as being able to translate business process and customer feedback into product concepts and solutions
  • Leading with other senior members, crossfunctional initiatives and foster and maintain relationships with seniors and stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment around backlog and priorities
  • Driving a product roadmaps and backlogs to successfully deliver products and services
  • Being the voice of the customer for the business and translates this to the development teams
  • Working with the development teams to define and maintain quality standards for the product
  • Working with the Head of Product to evaluate and test product features are fit for purpose before release
  • Producing clear and concise documentation and tickets, such as gathering business requirements for product features and other business initiatives
  • Balancing business/technical objectives, customer satisfaction, shortterm wins, and longterm strategy, and continue to build our software centred around our customers

About You_:

Minimum of 3 years experience working as a Product Owner in (Agile) software development:
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to influence by storytelling
  • Skilled analytical thinker who can gather data, break problems down into their parts and propose solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to align technical and nontechnical stakeholders to deliver against target outcomes
  • Experience with crossfunctional teams
  • Knowledge and experience with API Integrations
  • Working knowledge of the Atlassian suite of tools (Jira, confluence, etc.)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders of various levels across all business functions with diverse opinions and objectives
  • Problemsolving, troubleshooting and testing skills
  • Keen eye for details
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle, development methodologies (agile) and user experience design
  • Technical knowledge and understanding advantageous
