_Our client is an Australian-based non-bank lender specialising in finance for primary assets including transport, construction, materials handling and earthmoving equipment._


As a Settlements Specialist, you are pivotal in working alongside the Credit and Sales teams to deliver an excellent broker and customer outcome every time, you will develop a strong understanding of a variety of working assets used to run a small business.

You are responsible to validate all necessary documentation, ensuring that all transactions comply with the current policies and procedures and are settled within the agreed timeframe.

What you will be doing:


  • Management and verification of loan documentation for settlement
  • Detect any issues and anomalies such as fraud
  • Manage daily work volumes and settlement times
  • 100% adherence to policy and relevant legislation
  • Build positive relationships with all stakeholders
  • Provide service within determined SLAs to give a positive customer experience
  • Basic underwriting such as the analysis of a customer's financial position, conducting credit references and verbal employments checks
  • Assist in building a positive team environment through teamwork
  • Be innovative, always looking for ways to improve our processes

What do you need?

  • Experience in a credit/settlements role
  • Understanding of the current Financial Services Legislation
  • Be customercentric and have proven experience in a customer service role
  • Understanding of the National Consumer Credit Protection (NCCP) Act and associated legislation
  • Strong working knowledge of AML and Responsible Lending
  • Strong analytical and decisionmaking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent people and stakeholder management skills
