Wintringham is a specialised non-religious not-for-profit welfare organisation.

We are committed to providing older people who are at risk or have experienced homelessness with a range of high-quality care, housing and services.

We employ more than 1,000 staff across Victoria and Tasmania.


The expansion of our services into Tasmania in 2021 has seen our Tasmanian team provide tenancy and housing support services to multiple sites across Hobart making a difference to the lives of many financially disadvantaged people.


Your new role


We are currently seeking a flexible and experienced Care & Support Worker to join our team on a Casual basis.

You will be working across our community care program-based Hobart and surrounding suburbs assisting our clients in their homes.

So - what is a day in the life of a Community Care & Support Worker?
No two days will be the same in this fast paced and dynamic role.

In your new role, some of the requirements will include:

Community Support: escorting our clients on community outings e.g. shopping trips, excursions, lunches, appointments

Transport: escorting our clients to medical and allied health appointments, hospital visits and respite care
-
Domestic Support:cleaning, tidying, changing bedding to ensure a safe, clean and sanitized environment for our client

Personal Care: showering, oral care and continence management
-
Medication Assistance: Administering and monitoring medications, assisting with dressings and basic observations
-
Food Preparation: preparing, cooking and serving of meals


What we will need from you:

  • Completed or about to complete studying Certificate III/IV in Aged Care/Individual Support OR Currently enrolled in 2nd/3rd Year Nursing (EEN/RN)
  • Medication endorsement is favourable, but not essential
  • Prior experience in Aged or Community Care (preferred)
  • Geographical understanding and willingness to travel
  • A nonjudgmental approach with the ability to work with people from varying socioeconomic backgrounds
