About the role:


You'll need to have track experience and thrive working in a team environment, using your written and oral communication skills to help produce exceptional quality work in line with standards set by Metro.


You must have the ability to undertake work shift duties, on a 24-hour 7 day a week roster and work reasonable overtime as required and respond to after hour's emergencies.


Responsibilities include:

  • Lead repairs, maintenance, inspection, and renewals of infrastructure assets within the team's discipline
  • Complete all necessary reports, material returns, timesheets, requisitions and claim forms
  • Investigate and prepare technical, administration or any incident report associated with the performance of the works
  • Lead the team, coach, and develop staff to build current and future capability
  • Administer staff roster, attendance, timekeeping activities, and complete timesheets according to works performed
  • Implement and manage performance management and career development plans for all direct reports.
  • Plan resources to ensure works are delivered as efficiently as possible
  • Plan work access to maximise productive time on tools.
  • Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with the appropriate Occupational Health and Safety Standards and Regulations and Metro Trains policies and procedures
  • Manage the procurement of consumables in accordance with budget

About you:

  • A minimum of 4 years of track experience including lubrication experience non negotiable
  • Train Track Safety Awareness Certificate
  • Rail Infrastructure (Rail Maintenance) Certificate III
  • TLIF2082 Perform Hand signaller duties
  • Ability to undertake work shift duties, on a 24hour 7 day a week roster and work reasonable overtime as required and respond to after hour's emergencies
  • Full and current driver's license
  • Track Force Protection Coordinator desirable
  • Medium Rigid (MR) driver's license desirable
