The role & team
Specsavers have a high performing Retail Training Design Team of eighteen based in Port Melbourne.

In the last two years, the team have demonstrated industry leadership winning many awards at AITD and LearnX; for Best eLearning, Best Game Design (AR App), Best Onboarding, Best Learning Culture Strategy, Best Learning Campaign, Best shift it online, Best L&D Team and also Best Learning Design Team.


  • Reporting into the Learning Design Manager this role is part of the wider team which consists of; Learning Design / Instructional Design, Digital Design and Learning Systems.
  • This role holds the key responsibility of the design of training materials in support of the learning and development needs of Specsavers store teams. These interventions span from facetoface workshops, virtual classrooms to a wide range of online learning and instore tools.

The essential skills we are looking for

  • L&D instructional design with exceptional adult learning knowledge and experience
  • Proven ability to design learning materials, tools and assessments using a blend of methods and mediums
  • A skilled writer, who can translate business needs or requirements into an effective piece of learning.
  • Strong relationship building skills including the ability to build strategic working relationships with a diverse range of people
  • Ability to be agile, work in a fastpaced and highvolume environment whilst delivering high quality work
