About the VR Role


The role of
VR Technical Events & Project Coordinator involves working in a team-based environment in both a technical and educational setting as you set up, manage and facilitate engaging Virtual Reality (VR) experiences for high school students.

In addition, the role requires staff to build trust and engagement with the students, ask them questions, sharing information and supporting them in their futures journey.


The key functions of the role include:

  • Setting up the events space at each high school, including chairs, headsets, student information and testing equipment.
  • Present and facilitate the VR sessions and experiences for groups of up to 30 students in a knowledgeable and engaging manner on high school grounds.
  • Sharing knowledge of each of the VR experiences and explaining how VR works to the students
  • Engaging in and facilitating group or one to one student discussion where relevant
  • Liaising with the high school administration staff, teachers and career counsellors about the set up and delivery of the experience as required.
  • Other key tasks will also include coordinating with the IT team to set up the venues and ensure ongoing maintenance of activity consumables within budget, as well as providing general IT support to the delivery staff at the time of content delivery.
  • Working with the team to assist with the overall logístical objectives of the VR events.

About you & your expertise


The position of 'Virtual Reality (VR) Technical Events & Project Coordinator' is a dynamic role that requires an energetic, technical, and knowledgeable person.

You do not need to be a tech person as such, however having some level of interest in VR and tech skills is beneficial.


To be successful in the role you will be a naturally organised person, who uses their initiative and common sense when things don't go to plan.

Being able to trouble shoot technical and non-technical problems is crucial. You will be someone who works well under pressure and enjoys thinking and working on their feet.


You will be a confident presenter who enjoys leading an event and working with a team to deliver the experience.

An ideal background for this role is experience working in one or more of the following areas:

  • Virtual Reality or gaming product set-up
  • Working within VR events
  • Coaching children's sports
  • Youth work
  • Children's Camps
  • Teaching or tutoring high school students
  • Hospitality or a customer service background is also great

Other info
Training will be provided for the position on the technical and non-technical aspects of the role.


The position will start on a casual basis with a minimum of 2 days per week and has the potential to build up to permanent part time work.

The position fall under the 'amusement, Events and Recreation Award'.

  • A current working with children and police check will be required or can be arranged.
  • A current driver's license is required and having ownership or access to a car is desirable.
