The role
You are a competent and committed site-based Leading Hand comfortable being hands on and leading by example. You enjoy taking overall responsibility for leading your crew and coordinating all on-site construction activities in your scope. You get great results via effective motivation and guidance of your colleagues and associated subcontractors.

You are a credible leader comfortable working alongside Engineers and Project Managers to plan and drive safe production leading to the achievement of project time and budget objectives satisfying all stakeholders.

You step up and are known for your effective delegation and empowerment of staff.

You give clarity and work with focus all of which is underpinned by your strong practical skills developed whilst working on a variety of Electrical projects.

You can read plans, understand basic survey and are decisive with a sound understanding of principal and subcontract agreements.

What we need

5+ years practical site experience
Background delivering projects to Energex standards
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience in trenching and backfilling for services
Experience with traffic signals an advantage
Experience with rate 2 and 3 lighting an advantage
Experience in telecommunications/NBN a plus
MR/HR Truck license will be highly regarded
Willing to travel, work away periodically/remotely, if required
Strong organisational and people management skills
Able to manage a diverse team of skilled trades and subcontractors
Commitment, energy and drive
Proven track record of working to strict deadlines
