  • We are currently recruiting a Topside Mechanical and Piping/Layout Lead on an initial 12 month contract for a Global Oil & Gas operator.
  • This project will represent a significant development on the operators Asset allowing production plateau extension and ultimate recovery increase through lowering offshore asset arrival pressures.

The Piping Lead will follow:


  • Topside modifications (2 flowlines + 1 Tutu and associated modifications) already in execution/closeout phase.
  • Brownfield modifications (Booster compressors module Offshore connection to existing platform
  • The position of Brownfield Mechanical and Piping/Layout Lead will provide support to the Engineering Manager to ensure quality/integrity for Detail design deliverables for Brownfield modifications.
  • They will oversee Piping/Layout discipline for Integrated Brownfield team.
  • Deliverables timing will have to be in line with procurement & execution phase.
  • The Topside Mechanical and Piping/Layout Lead shall report to the Brownfield Engineering Lead/Manager.

Key Result Area Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the company's policies and procedures. Ensuring the welfare of personnel and the protection of assets and the environment always.
  • Provide guidance on all aspects of Technical Safety during Execution contract tendering, HAZOPS and adherence to applicable Specifications, Codes and Standards. Ensure external parties are aligned with Technical safety management expectations.
  • Assist Brownfield interface: assist the Interface with all booster compression project and installation Contractors.
  • Ensure interface with Internal Technical Authorities and Operations Engineering for Piping/Layout discipline. Ensure that all relevant stakeholders including Tokyo technical division are informed, and their support is secured for all key Project technical and engineering activities and deliverables.
  • Provide engineering discipline support to the Brownfield engineering engineers (ESC).
  • Define and manage the engineering requirements for Mechanical (static) and Piping/Layout quality deliverables for Brownfield 2a/2b Execution stage.
  • Participate in TQD/MOC process, ensure appropriate signoff on Deviations to standards and specifications.
  • Manage all technical and engineering aspects for Piping/Layout discipline to ensure an optimized tiein during Offshore installation scope.
  • Ensure the engineering deliverables needed for procurement are provided in a timely manner. Assist procurement department during procurement phase (vendors doc review/technical assistance/ensure proper IRC at factory delivery).
  • Work closely with the Engineering Manager to ensure timely mobilization of capably key discipline engineers for Piping/Layout discipline.
  • Participate in workshops and reviews. (HAZID/HAZOP/3D model/Integration/etc )
  • Ensure all assigned work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and schedule
  • Ensure proper closeout of engineering documents at the end of phase.
  • Ensure Lesson learnt from are used and provide LL at the end of phase.

Qualifications:


  • Tertiary Mechanical engineering degree

Skills and Experience requirements:


  • 15yrs+ Oil and Gas industry experience, background in topsides piping (piping/static vessels/valves) + Layout discipline engineering, Brownfield project experience would be highly regarded.
  • Experience in FEED and detailed design delivery, preferable worked in engineering design office at some stage in career.
  • Good knowledge of ASME, API, and ISO codes and standards for piping, valves, and static equipment.
  • Knowledge on Pipe Stress analysis, including AIV/FIV mitigations.
  • Experience with Topside piping fabrication and installation is mandatory.
  • Familiar with good engineering practices and processes for seeking technical deviations and exemptions.
  • Team leader experience (Company and Contractor side). Ability to supervise and guide an integrated Project piping team.
