Position Information


Colyton High School is a proud comprehensive high school with a current enrolment of over 800 students including 11% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, 25% English as an additional Language or Dialect and 40% Language Background Other than English students.

It is located in the western suburbs of Sydney, near St Marys and is part of the Eastern Creek Principal's Network.

Colyton High School is committed to providing comprehensive quality learning opportunities for students from a range of cultural and social backgrounds, providing an innovative and engaging curriculum within a developing Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) environment.

At present the school is continuing to establish a new Support Unit with one IM Support Class and two Multi-Cat (IM/Autism) Classes.


Students are offered a diverse range of academic courses of study, supported through the delivery of school and TAFE delivered VET opportunities utilising outstanding trade training facilities.

The school offers a wide range of extracurricular programs including sporting, creative and performing arts programs.

The school embraces technology at all levels and students have good access to in-school technology in addition to a growing, 'Bring Your Own Device' environment.

There is a strong emphasis on student leadership programs and effective student representation.

The school runs a highly successful learning support programs to assist literacy and numeracy students with learning difficulties and disabilities.

Colyton High School is part of the Colyton Learning Community, producing successful middle school programs with partner primary schools. The school proactively builds strong parent and community partnerships.


Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach ITX Technology Mandatory (Years 7-8) and ITW Indust Technology-Timber.


Capacity to incorporate current pedagogical theory in collaboratively planning for and delivering high quality, differentiated teaching and learning programs that maximise student engagement and deliver enhanced outcomes for individuals and groups of students.

Commitment to building positive relationships with students through leading or supporting extracurricular activities to develop the whole student.


Highly developed interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork, effective communication and building positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents, the wider school community to improve outcomes for all students.
