About the opportunity


We have a fantastic permanent, full-time opportunity for an enthusiastic can-do attitude Service Desk Officer to join our IT Service Desk team at Blacktown City Council.


Working within a high-performing team, the IT Service Desk Officer is the front-line first point of contact in the receiving and handling of support requests from the fast-paced organisation of over 2,000 employees across over 100 sites.

The role will provide first-line investigation and diagnosis, first-call resolution, and promptly allocates or escalates unresolved issues as appropriate.


You will take full ownership of issues and use your initiative and solid customer service experience to resolve queries in a professional and timely manner.


Qualifications and experience

Essential:


  • Certificate IV in Information Technology or a related field
  • Solid experience in an Information Technology support role
  • Experience supporting Windows 10 end user environments, audio visual equipment and meeting resources
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Class C driver's licence.

Desirable:


  • Microsoft Certified Professional or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert qualified
  • Experience with a multisite enterprise networking environment including switches, routers and wireless technologies
  • ITIL v3 or V4 Foundation certification
  • Sound knowledge of Active Directory, SCCM, Office 365 and Technology One.
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Availability to work flexible working hours.

Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council's Enterprise Agreement.

  • The salary for this position is $1,452.48 per week
  • 35hour working week
  • Opportunity to participate in Council's flextime arrangement
