Mitsui E&P Australia Pty Ltd (MEPAU) is a leading energy company in Australasia. We're a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsui & Co. Ltd. and operate as the regional oil and gas exploration and production headquarters for Mitsui in Australia.

We have interests in approximately 30 projects of various exploration/development stages and a rapidly growing operator presence in the Perth Basin.


We're seeking an experienced
Risk and Assurance Manager who is looking to act as a catalyst for organisational improvement to
join our growing Perth office team of experienced professionals on a fulltime basis.

Reporting to the General Manager - Corporate Assurance and Compliance, you will:

  • Support the development of Governance and Risk Management plans by interpreting MEPAU's strategic plan, business initiatives and changing risk profiles
  • Lead and/or support the design, deliver and review internal governance to manage material risks, governance and internal control environments
  • Support innovation and provide assurance on sustainability of internal governance processes.
  • Lead continuous improvement exercises for risk management and governance
  • Undertake handson risk and assurance procedures
  • Design and facilitate risk workshops and undertake independent analysis to support management of material risks
  • Analyse business processes to identify key risks and manage the design and operating effectiveness of related internal controls

Desired Skills and Experience:

To be successful in this role, you'll require the following skills and experience:

  • Significant career experience in a similar role risk and assurance roles, where you have lead organizational transformation to provide a robust assurance environment
  • Ability to positively influence stakeholders and demonstrate the value of a robust assurance approach
  • Sound knowledge of applicable regulations, codes of practice and international standards
  • Experience with leading and coordinating quantitative risk assessments
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of:
  • Risk management and professional auditing standards
  • Microsoft Office program suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
