Our opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a General Manager, Strategy and Operations - Development to join Sydney based team.

Reporting to the CEO, Development, you will be responsible for Orchestrating the consolidation and alignment of the various Development Division strategies employing a strong strategic leadership capability.

Ensuring a 'one Development' approach to future directions and working collaboratively with the Development Leadership Team (DLT) to articulate and co-ordinate the design and execution of the overall Development Division Strategy.

Executive level accountability to lead and manage key operational activities across the Development Division (including in Residential, BTR, Commercial Mixed Use, Industrial as well as partnering with Construction, Mirvac Design and Mirvac Project Design Management) to deliver efficient, high-quality services to support delivery of Development outcomes including:
Business/operational performance monitoring
Business solutions, Business operations, Procurement, HSE, Sustainability
Innovation and new development business revenue streams
Robust, best practice Quality, Governance and Risk framework for data and reporting (other than finance related activities)
Business risk identification, management, and reporting


Your responsibilities are but not limited to:

Providing sophisticated executive level advice and support to the CEO, Development in consolidating all development strategies and executing and embedding of the overall Development Divisional strategy in line with the overall Mirvac strategy.

The Vision to observe future trends and provide a leadership role in contributing to convert these trends into opportunities across all creation sectors within Development.

Driving product and project innovation across Apartments, Masterplan Communities, Land Lease, Commercial Mixed Use, Build to Rent and Industrial including support to new development revenue streams.

Outstanding, established executive level people management skills to lead a multidisciplined professional team to achieve agreed deliverables while sustaining high engagement.

Representation on key selected state meetings / group forums / key project Boards with the capability to represent the Development Division externally with an assured authority.

Lead the Development sustainability function and assist project teams to deliver on divisional initiatives and partnering with the Group Sustainability functions to meet overall Group initiatives and key performance metrics.

Lead the Development HSE team driving the safety culture, delivering on divisional initiatives, and partnering with the Group HSE functions and Construction to meet overall Group initiatives and key performance metrics

Lead the Development Procurement function establishing new sourcing opportunities, quality controls, category management and process improvements through standardised practices including construction.

Lead the Business Operations and Solutions team to support the delivery of divisional initiatives across all development projects.

Partner with the Finance team, providing thought leadership, guidance, and support to ensure alignment between strategy and divisional financial targets, including appropriate forecasting and business analysis activities and reviewing operating results, activities and investments in light of budget objectives.

Accountable for the overall business effectiveness of operational support activities of the Development division.
Ensure standardised systems and procedures are maintained across key activities to optimise process efficiency and effectiveness as well as identify and implement operational efficiencies and process improvements to support business improvement and project delivery
Maintain a portfolio view of deliverables, project performance, risks and emerging issues and identify required responses or operational resource requirements working closely with other members of the Development Leadership Team
