About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time dedicated individual to join our company of team spirited people

You will be responsible for estimating materials and parts, equipment installation, maintenance and repairs on fixed/mobile plant equipment and our heavy vehicle fleet, documentation, testing and compliance activities.


Essential Requirements:


  • Relevant Diploma or higher qualification mechanical engineering (highly desirable).
  • Minimum 35 years' relevant work experience
  • Heavy Combination License
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Supervisory / Leadership experience

Responsibilities:


  • Complete daily mechanical inspection, maintenance, and repair activities in line with project schedules.
  • Conduct tests on mechanical systems, troubleshoot and diagnose components to determine root cause of failure.
  • Analyse failure evidence and modify parts and equipment accordingly
  • Ensure workshop complies with QA and QC processes, including document controls, work processes and reporting standards.
  • Provide technical support, supervise workshop technicians, and inspect plant, equipment, and vehicle fleet.
  • Analyse mechanical equipment and vehicles to ensure optimised performance and compliance with operational and safety systems.
  • Ensure all work orders are completed to a consistently high standard
  • Organise external contractors for specialised repairs
  • Ensure uptodate records and reports are completed
  • Prepare plant equipment and vehicles for registration
  • Attend to breakdowns or onsite call outs
  • Order and collect mechanical parts, equipment and tools
  • Manage workshop personnel and provide information and technical experience to assistants in their duties.
  • Keep workshop and related areas clean and tidy

Skills required:


  • Industrial maintenance experience on fixed plant and heavy industry vehicles
  • Sound mechanical, automotive electric/electronic diagnostics and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to follow instructions, work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to prioritise, work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Selfmotivated
  • Reliable and punctual
