Do you want to be part of a business making a difference? Our client is the largest in their sector (industrial services) in Australia with over 5000 staff, and provide sustainable solutions across a range of services and resources, including waste management.

Due to a recent resignation in their Safety team, an opportunity currently exists for a passionate and forward thinking individual to join them.


About the Role

As the Health and Safety Manager you will:

  • Support a business unit within the larger organisation
  • healthcare and bio medical waste management solutions.
  • Management of a small team of Health and Safety Business Partner's across NSW and VIC.
  • Execution of strategy and direction for Health & Safety, be seen as a significant leader of influence across this business unit.
  • A leader that has an understanding of heavy industrial, complex, high risk business operations.
  • Credibility with Executive GMs in providing good guidance and advice around governance requirements.
  • Visibility across the business, ensuring that they are connected to the business, that relationships are built, and context of the business is clearly understood to enable cultural change through the right programs.
  • Building the capability across the business both functionally and operationally to enable effective execution of the strategy.
  • Requires a strong operational presence through coaching, leadership engagement and site support to enable alignment and delivery of outcomes.

About You

Ideally you will also have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Risk, or related field.
  • Experience of managing a team is a prerequisite coupled with exceptional business partnering skills.
  • Bluecollar, highrisk industry environments.
  • Be engaging and be able to present to, engage with and influence across all levels of an organisation in a compelling and pragmatic way.
  • Be organised, have excellent attention to detail to ensure the development and effective implementation of the new program.
