Come and join us to support us on our growth journey, while developing your own career with our talented global community.

Vysus Group is a leading engineering and technical consultancy offering specialist asset performance, risk management and project management expertise across complex industrial assets, energy assets (oil and gas, nuclear, renewables) and the energy transition.

We are looking for a
Power Systems Team Manager to join our Grid & Power Systems team located in Melbourne, Australia.

Our Grid & Power Systems team helps clients with compliance and efficiency, providing power systems studies to negotiate the connection and access standards for their energy generation projects.

The
Power Systems Team Manager will lead our close-knit team of 20+ talented and dedicated Power Systems Engineers who are delivering grid connections on some of Australia's most interesting clean generation and storage project.

This team supports the connection of new wind, solar and energy storage projects to the grid in Australia, the Asia Pacific region, and beyond.

To date our team has been involved in over 30% of the renewable generation projects connected to the NEM.

With our strong team culture of knowledge sharing and mutual support, and our knowledge of the risks and strategies of the grid connection process, we undertake the complex analyses and simulations required to get more new, clean energy projects developed, connected to the grid, and delivering the power of the future.

In the role of
Power Systems Team Manager, you will ensure the fluid operation of this team - managing personnel, clients, and resourcing, and stepping into projects when major hurdles arise to ensure the best outcomes for our clients.

This is an opportunity to work with a leading grid connection team in Australia and to forge a career as a leader within an industry shaping tomorrow's electricity grid.

In the role you will:

  • Drive the delivery of power systems studies for renewable energy projects across the region and across the grid connection process, from feasibility through to commissioning.
  • Oversee the preparation of deliverables of exceptional quality within the agreed scope and time frame.
  • Prioritise work across the team and across projects to best meet client schedule needs.
  • Provide overarching project and operations management for the team.
  • Forecast future workload, resource balancing and identifying availability to take on new work.
  • Interact with new and existing clients and identify new opportunities.
  • Understand clients' needs and translate them into deliverable technical services to fulfill those needs.
  • Assist team members and clients with technical, project management and commercial issues on projects facing acute challenges.
  • Mentor and knowledge share within the team.
  • Collaboratively drive the recruitment of new talent.
  • Support internal management and administration processes.
To be successful in the role of
Power Systems Team Manager we are looking for you to have the following:

  • A strong background in power systems (10+ years) including with the power systems software packages PSS/E and PSCAD.
  • Experience in working with NSPs/AEMO and the NEM generator connection process.
  • An understanding of the key risks to generator connection and the best strategies to manage those risks.
  • Demonstrable project management skills.
  • A proven track record of leading a team of engineers and a strong drive to manage the team.
  • A natural sense of collaboration, teamwork, and mutual support.
  • The ability to develop relationships with clients and to manage client expectations in challenging situations.
  • A passion for renewable and clean energy generation technology.

What we can offer you:

  • An opportunity to be part of a global multidisciplinary team.
  • Opportunities to contribute to the development of new and exciting business areas.
  • Competitive salary and a good benefits package.
  • Flexible working arrangements.
