We currently have a role for a Mechanical Inspector within our Weapons and Manufacturing Business Unit based in SA - Edinburgh Parks.

Manufacturing has won multiple large long-term contracts.

We are seeking applicants for an experienced Mechanical Inspector to join our day shift, and who will be responsible for performing the mechanical inspection of complex machined components.

As the Mechanical inspector you will receive four weeks' annual leave, RDOs, regular overtime in the comfort of a temperature controlled working environment.

In terms of more specific responsibilities, you will:

  • Perform in process and final inspection activities including Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) programming and operating
  • Maintain and take ownership of internal process instructions
  • Assist where required in the recall and calibration of mechanical measuring equipment to a known standard

As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you will have:

  • A recognised trade in the mechanical field
  • preferably inspection/calibration in a defence related machine shop environment
  • Solid experience in programming and operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)
  • PC DMIS preferred
  • Defence related inspection experience
  • Formal Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) training or have a demonstrated knowledge of advanced GD&T interpretation
  • A strong team focus coupled with a can do attitude
  • Familiarity with the requirements of AS9100 and AS910
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to manage multiple projects at once
A Defence security clearance is required for these roles. Applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.

International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
