Role As the Clinical Lead Social Work and Counselling at Mates4Mates, you will provide clinical leadership and operational support nationally to a team of Social Workers and Counsellors responsible for providing clinical oversight and leadership to the multidisciplinary team.

You will contribute to the development, delivery and evaluation of clinically therapeutic Skills for Recovery programs and other recovery oriented clinical programs.


Key responsibilities In this role, the responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide advice to Executive and Senior Management on areas within role responsibilities and ensure organisational compliance and continued improvement.
  • Support all cultural change initiatives through word and action.
  • Take active accountability for continued improvement and innovation within area of responsibility.
  • Identify, establish, and maintain key working relationships with all stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of services within scope of role responsibility.
  • Manage own performance, and support others, to deliver work of a high standard in line with the Mates4Mates vision, purpose, and values.

Required skills and experience

  • Experience working directly with community members experiencing a range of social, financial, physical and/or psychological issues.
  • Experienced in intake and assessment and conducting structured interviews and assessments with people seeking assistance within a community services environment.
  • Welldeveloped oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and computer proficiency, including the ability to use client information management systems.
  • Demonstrated accountability and proficiency in record keeping.
  • Strong and demonstrated awareness of diversity.
  • High levels of emotional intelligence including selfawareness.
  • Open Drivers License
  • Ability to travel regionally and/or interstate if required

Advantageous

  • Direct experience in delivering psychological or related services to current or past serving Defence personnel and their families.

Essential for Success

  • Bachelor of Social Work.
  • Current membership with AASW.
  • Endorsement through Better Access to Mental Health scheme or eligibility for endorsement.
  • Open Drivers License
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Satisfactory National Police Check
