Who are we looking for?


Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is seeking a Centre Manager to join School of Economics and Finance, Faculty of Business and Law, Academic Division.


The Centre Manager provides leadership and management of the Centre's core operational activities, working closely with the Director and other senior leaders to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of Centre's vision and objectives.

Professor Uwe Dulleck and Professor Rebekah Russell-Bennett are Co-Directors of the Centre.

The Centre Manager will lead and have responsibility for managing the operation of the Centre, delivery of administrative services, project delivery support and all operational matters.

The position has operational responsibility for the Centre's budget including operating and discretionary budgets.

As the senior administrative lead, this position is required to collaborate with the Office of Research Services, Administrative Division, Finance and HR to execute the effective operations of the Centre.

You will demonstrate:

  • Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to completion of postgraduate qualifications with extensive relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to display initiative, critically evaluate systems and processes, and contribute new ideas to achieve ongoing improvements at a strategic and operational level.
  • Demonstrated experience in negotiation and engagement with industry partners, multinational organisations and stakeholder engagement.
  • High level ability to manage time and tasks effectively and meet a range of competing deadlines in a timely manner without compromising quality.
  • Demonstrated financial management and budgeting experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to build a team environment and provide positive leadership to staff, and connect and collaborate with varied groups across an organisation.
  • High level communication skills to prepare clear and concise presentations, reports, plans and complex correspondence using a variety of digital technologies.
