APS6 Contract Manager

In this role, you will support the management and administration of commercial arrangements made with third-party vendors or service providers to supply goods, services, or facilities acquired and lead a small team.

the position will ensure contracts are managed in an efficient, effective, ethical and economical manner to ensure that value for money is achieved through its commercial, social, or other benefits.


Specific duties within the role are:

  • Lead contract management preparation
  • Conduct ongoing contract management activities
  • Conduct contract conclusion and transition out processes
  • Communicate effectively and influentially with internal and external stakeholders
  • Conduct financial management activities
  • Conduct contract risk management
  • Provide contract advice, and
  • Lead a contract management team

Your Skills & Experience

  • You have had previous experience in a contract management role
- you have an understanding of administration and financial budgeting and reporting, for the development, planning, updating, and reviewing of contracts

  • Possess a sound understanding of relevant systems such as Contracts Purchasing and Reporting system (CPR), EasySAP, TRIM, AusTender, and the Commonwealth Contracting Suite.
  • Welldeveloped communication (both verbal and written) stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to negotiate and influence to achieve outcomes
  • Strong understanding of contract administration, contract variations and amendments, contract underperformance management, and contract reporting
  • Experience with payments and invoicing
  • Formal procurement qualifications would be well regarded
  • Project management skills and experience, including Prince2 qualifications or an ability to acquire
