Fixed Term Part-Time

Annual Salary $76,557 - $82,387

(Pro-Rata for Part-time)

About the role
Are you a skilled Youth Worker, experienced in working with a diverse range of young people and looking for your next challenge?


This program is calling for 1 part-time Youth Worker (30 hours per week) on a fixed term contract until 31 December 2023, with the possibility of extension based on funding.


Working Hours:

Tuesday 10:30am - 6:30pm

Wednesday 9:30am - 5:30pm

Thursday 9:30am - 5:30pm

Friday 10:30am - 6:30pm


The Youth Workers will be responsible for delivering programs and additional case management support, as well as the development of positive and ongoing relationships with schools and potential referrers in the area.

Further to the role, the youth workers will be instrumental in the evaluation of the program, working alongside the Youth Services Coordinator and program partners to ensure the desired outcomes.

If you have a thorough understanding of current issues facing young people aged years, are passionate about facilitating group programs as well as one-on-one support, and can engage with young people in a variety of settings, then this role is for you


Duties

  • Deliver programs in a range of locations, taking into consideration the varying needs and diversity of the client group
  • Provide additional, timelimited case management support to the young people, offering additional referrals and information to both the young people and their families
  • Prepare and contribute to funding and social impact reports as requested
  • Assist young people to build their capacity and develop positive lifestyle skills
  • Provide advocacy, information, and referral support to young people
  • Provide physically and mentally challenging activities designed to enhance the individuals' wellbeing and promote cultural awareness
  • Role model excellent work practices and values to clients, staff, and stakeholders

Essential requirements

  • Minimum Certificate IV in Youth Work, Community Services, or other relevant field
  • Current First Aid and CPR qualifications or willingness to obtain
  • National Police Clearance and WA Working with children check card or willingness to obtain
  • Significant experience in outreach, youth work and individual support
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and implementation of activities, workshops and groups for young people aged 112
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication skills and a capability to relate to and build relationships with a variety of young people and stakeholders
  • A good understanding of the issues young people are facing and referral pathways and services
  • Ability to work autonomously to achieve set outcomes.
  • Welldeveloped written skills and computer literacy, including excel
  • High standard of professionalism and integrity.
  • National Police and HLTAID003 First Aid Certificates and Working with Children Check
  • Ability to work outside of normal hours including weekends and evenings
  • Current C class Driver's License
