As part of our Womenswear Merchandise team, we are currently recruiting a Merchandise Planner within Women's Accessories.

The Planner is a crucial member of the team that develops & drives the overall category strategy, with a focus on product development lines.

Reporting to the Commercial Operations Manager, this role is focused on developing effective merchandise strategies, creating sound financial plans to increase probability.


With a hybrid mix of work from home and time in the office, this is a chance to make a real impact for an experienced, commercially minded Planner looking for the next step in their career.


What does the role involve?

  • To work with the Buyer to establish a balanced range of merchandise suited to the customer profile making recommendations for changes and improvements to maximize sales and profit potential
  • Manage WSSIs and create seasonal and weekly forecasts which are in line with business KPIs
  • Ensure department of responsibility's sales, profit, spend, closing stocks are accurately reported to the business
  • Produce seasonal and ad hoc analysis that can be used to make strategic decisions within the merchandising team
  • Monitor sellthrough and deliveries of all vendors and take decisive action to deal with their performance
  • Manage department markdowns, margins and closing stocks ensuring maximum profitability
  • To provide on the job coaching to an allocator, ensure that the direct report are able to meet and exceed the requirements of their role
  • Engage with and influence internal business partners to implement merchandise strategy
  • Demonstrated experience as a Merchandise Planner
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Demonstrably strong retail and commercial acumen
  • A proven ability to work alongside a range of key senior stakeholders in order to achieve business outcomes
  • An ability to meet deadlines and work within a fastpaced environment whilst balancing competing interests
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to influence stakeholders across the organisation
