The Deputy Commissioner, WCIC will operate in a fast-paced and highly complex working environment while leading and overseeing the strategic vision and direction of the Division's programs of work.

This role involves fostering a collaborative, diverse and professional culture within Workforce Culture, Integrity and Capability.

The Deputy Commissioner, WCIC will focus on key areas such as discipline, grievance resolution, executive level legal, legislative, diversity and leadership development.

You will also be required to make informed organisational decisions through workforce planning and alignment with key government objectives and commitments.

We are searching for a dedicated, enthusiastic, and strategic leader who has demonstrated experience in the delivery of agency wide workforce programs and reform, promoting diversity and inclusion within a team and executive level advice.

The position is a key member on the QCS Board of Management.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Driving informed organisational decision making by leading the development of strategic workforce and culture plans informed by robust workforce modelling, data analysis and insight that aligns to Queensland Government objectives. Providing leadership and focus to influence change and enhance cultural capability across QCS. Providing executive level legal, legislative, and operational policy advice to the Minister, Commissioner and Board of management to mitigate organisational risk. Providing strong and coordinated leadership in the design, development, and implementation of strategic and operational workforce functions. Advocating for organisational capability and sustainability through successful delivery of highquality professional education, training, and staff development services. Providing strategic leadership and oversight of integrity functions to drive a mature and corruption resistant culture. Leading transformational change to reshape QCS' complaints, investigation, and disciplinary management approach. Demonstrating superior interpersonal and influential skills to manage the resolution of critical and emergent issues and deliver successful outcomes.
