The Role

Situated within Swartz Barracks, Oakey, the Information Communication Technology Service Manager (ICTSM) will operate within an integrated Defence team environment, directly supporting AAvnTC's ICT service and security management functions.

As the ICTSM, you will be accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex IT service provision work within an integrated workforce.

You will provide detailed ICT service delivery technical, professional and policy advice in relation to complex work and contribute to strategic planning, program and project management and policy development.


About our Team

The role of AAvnTC is to be the conduit between our higher headquarters (Army Aviation Command) and the relevant subordinate Training Establishments.

AAvnTC and its subordinate units are the Army's specialist institutions responsible for enabling, supporting and delivering Army Aviation soldier and officer development programs, individual initial employment and specialist training and career development courses.

The AAvnTC team is a highly skilled and experienced cohort of Defence, APS and industry professionals. The climate within the team espouses an adult workplace environment and a respectful open discourse between its members. Beyond the broader Defence Values, the team places large emphasis on innovation, initiative, flexibility, effective communications, trust and teamwork.

AAvnTC is seeking a highly motivated person, with a strong service delivery focus. You will be required to work both collaboratively as part of a team and independently with limited supervision. You should be adaptable, flexible and comfortable during change.


You must possess a high degree of digital literacy, and have previous ICT Management experience (or experience in managing the delivery of Information Technology with and through enterprise Information Technology stakeholders).

You must have knowledge and experience and/or the ability to quickly learn about both civilian and military Information Technology and Operational Technology.

This role requires strong analytical and administrative competencies to meet the unique demands of the position;

- a keen attention to detail;
- an ability to establish, foster and maintain collaborative relationships across the Army Aviation capability, the Defence enterprise and external stakeholders.
