Your new role
The centre is aiming to expand its capacity in research on complex social networks and systems.

You will contribute to this by conducting high-quality fundamental and applied research under the supervision of, and in collaboration with, other members of the centre and take the lead in publishing your work in top international journals.


Some of the potential research topics for this position include:

  • Modelling of dynamic social processes and phenomena, including opinion formation dynamics, cultural dynamics, and formation and evolution of social norms; and
  • Parametrisation and validation of mathematical models of social networks using experimental and observational data.

Selection criteria:


  • A doctoral qualification in applied mathematics, engineering, computer science, or related areas.
  • A track record of publications in highquality international journals in systems and control, complex networks, network science, computational social science, or similar areas.
  • A strong theoretical background in relevant areas such as dynamical systems theory, control theory, and agentbased and computational modelling.
  • Excellent computing skills and experience working with relevant programming languages and platforms for example, Python, R, MATLAB.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interest and willingness to work on applied research and engage with external stakeholders in demanddriven research.
