THE OPPORTUNITY

Salary:
$95, % Super + Salary packaging

Employment Type:
Full time 2-year Contract

WHAT YOU WILL DO
RESEARCH OFFICER - LEVEL 3- Research & Development: Implement and develop advanced computational and machine learning techniques to analyze large-scale genomic data

  • Data Analysis:
Process, analyze, and interpret high-throughput genomic data to derive clinically meaningful insights

  • Collaboration:
Work closely with researchers, clinicians, and other stakeholders to integrate computational findings into actionable clinical strategies. Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest advancements in computational biology, machine learning, and clinical oncology.- Be involved in the recruitment of research assistants and students.- All staff are required to comply with Garvan's workplace polices (as amended from time to time) and especially Garvan's Work Health & Safety (WHS) Policy, including working in accordance with the WHS management system at all times, as safety is Garvan's number one priority.


ABOUT YOU
The key skills and experience of a Research Officer include:

  • PhD or MD in a relevant area
  • At least 2 years experience in relevant area
  • Extensive experience with wet laboratory techniques is expected
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Have a strong commitment to continuous delivery of high-quality work
  • Have excellent communication skills for written reports and oral presentations
  • Demonstrate a capacity to work collaboratively with researchers across laboratories
  • Be well organised and a good time manager with sound administrative abilities
