  • The Royal Melbourne is one of Victoria's largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, subacute, general, and specialist medical services throughout inpatient and communitybased facilities. We are also a proud part of the worldrenowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.
We are looking for a ward clerk to support our busy Cardiology ward. The Coronary Care Unit (CCU)/Cardiology ward is a progressive and dynamic unit. It comprises of 6 CCU, 4 step-down and 24 cardiology beds. The unit functions within a collaborative teamwork environment. The shared goal is the delivery of high-quality patient focused care. Working closely with Nursing, Medical & Allied Health staff, you will be a key member in the smooth day to day running of the ward.-
Your new role:
  • Deliver a professional and caring customer
  • focussed service, often the first point of contact and communication for patients, their families, and visitors.
  • Coordinate the physical and telecommunication traffic throughout the area, ensuring accurate data transmission of patient movements.
  • Liaise with nursing, medical and ancillary staff, hospital departments, patients and carers, as well as the general public.
  • Undertake general administrative duties including answering phones, sorting and filing medical records, using IPM and EMR for admissions, discharges, outpatient appointment allocations, transfers, and patient updates.

  • You provide a compassionate, patient focused service.
  • You demonstrate the ability to problem solve in a complex and everchanging environment.
  • You hold a Certificate III in Health Administration (Patient Services).
