Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated
Procurement Officer to join our Project Delivery Group (PDG) on the Kemerton Expansion Project outside of Bunbury.


About the Role


As the successful applicant you will provide expertise, coordinate, and oversee procurement activities of materials management process interfacing with engineering, project controls, procurement disciplines and construction management team.

Specific emphasis is placed on system setup and deployment to proceed with the execution of the package lifecycle, from requisition, acquisition, fabrication, and delivery to free issue, in accordance with the materials management section of Project Procurement Execution Plan.

You will monitor and ensure the integrity of the materials management process during procurement delivery lifecycle with respect to the automated and manual materials management systems being implemented.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report and receive direction from the Procurement Manager in conjunction with Materials Manager guidance as to how the project will be executed to reach the objectives of the project through use of system
  • Provide operational direction to support control and tracking of equipment/materials for materials management related activities of engineering, procurement, and construction via the respective discipline leads, including the Lead Planner
  • Implement and execute the Materials Responsibility Matrix with all involved project disciplines to ensure agreement in the division of responsibilities between the client, EPCM firm, contractors, and other partners
  • Setup the project procurement system environment which includes deployment of materials management modules and reporting functionalities
  • Maintain interfacing of the engineering design tools with the materials management system
  • Coordinate with engineering, the creation of materials category libraries to be applied on the project
  • Assure working consensus with the Engineering Materials Coordinator who will in turn coordinate with all engineering discipline leads regarding materials definition and codification, bill of materials production and requisition development up to procurement lifecycle.
  • Assure mutual understanding among all procurement discipline leads during purchasing, fabrication, shipment/delivery to site, material receipt, storage and finally free issue to contractor for installation.

About You

  • Extensive experience in an EPCM project environment on capital projects, specifically in one or more areas under the material management discipline
  • Excellent experience with and knowledge of materials management systems and their setup, implementation, support, and utilization
  • Technical knowledge/understanding
  • Management skills
  • Knowledge of planning and scheduling, construction, and constructability issues with the relevant systems
  • Knowledge of stock coding, equipment/materials identification methods and specification development of systems
  • Knowledge of required standard procurement reporting specifications and best practices in respect to procurement discipline requirements
  • Excellent understanding of procurement processes and corporate governance principles.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification will be highly regarded
  • Project management skills
  • Experience working on large construction sites.
