About the Role:

Our client, a leading Industry Super Fund is on the lookout for a new Insurance Claim Officer to join them on a 12-month contract.

Here, you will manage the day-to-day claims activities including the review and preparation of files relating to Death, Total and Permanent Disablement, Terminal Illness, Permanent Incapacity, and Income Protection claims.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with external partners to ensure smooth claims processing.
  • Review and prepare claims for approval under Board delegation.
  • Keep track of claim statuses and address any delays promptly.
  • Ensure timely payments for Income Protection claimants.
  • Stay updated on procedures and regulations to streamline processes.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships internally and externally, while ensuring compliance with legal standards

Ideally You'll Have:


  • Proficiency in assessing various life claims using group life insurance principles.
  • Strong communication skills, especially during sensitive discussions with members and beneficiaries.
  • Knowledge of Trustee responsibilities and complaints processes (preferred).
  • Empathy, attention to detail, and exceptional written and verbal communication.
  • A background in insurance and/or superannuation (qualification desirable).
  • Familiarity with superannuation legislation and tax laws (desirable).
  • Initiative and a team player mindset
