G JAMES SAFETY GLASS PTY LTD is looking for a full time (38 hours per week) Glazier to join our Adelaide location, paid an annualised salary of $60,000 plus 10.5% superannuation.
The G.James Group of Companies is a family-owned, manufacturing business proudly specialising in the Australian-based production of aluminium windows & doors, glass products, building facades and aluminium extrusions.
The company's interests extend into other entities supplying aluminium castings, street & park furniture and aluminium scaffolding & access equipment.
Collectively the G.James Group forms Australia's largest and most diverse producer of glass and aluminium based products.
As a qualified Glazier with our company, you will be responsible and required to measure, cut, finish, fit and install glass including supervising with GJames on full time basis.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Understand how to calculate and cut along patterns and templates to fit specialised areas
- Inspect glazier work and materials for compliance with specifications, regulations and standards
- Work with architectural specifications and blue prints for each Glazing project including high rises, commercial and noncommercial buildings
- Examining glass and marking defective areas when investigating building maintenance
- Measuring, cutting, fitting and installing glass on all projects
- Determining type and dimensions of glass required
- Breaking off sheets and excess glass with notched tools and glass pliers
- Installing glass and mirrors in commercial and noncommercial facilities, high rise buildings, skylights, display cases, interior walls and ceilings
- Smoothing rough edges using belt sanders and smoothing wheels
- Coat, cut, etch, trim and treat glass to achieve special effects including glass restoration
- Lifting glass work and framing on high rise building with the use of rope access technics.
Requirements:
- Must have a relevant Certificate III or Certificate IV in Glass & Glazing including at least two years of onthejob training. At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications requirement.
