Bendigo Kangan Institute (BKI) is an organisation that encompasses a history of over 165 years of education and training, BKI is one of the largest TAFEs in Victoria with ten campuses stretching from Docklands to Echuca.


BKI is an organisation that comprises the following:

  • Kangan Institute prominent provider of vocational education and training (VET) for metropolitan Melbourne
  • Bendigo TAFE prominent provider of vocational education and training (VET) for regional Victoria.
  • VETASSESS a leading Australian Assessing Authority and independent assessmentonly registered training organisation for clients nationally and internationally
- eWorks - an e-learning hosting, content and consultancy specialist.


Reporting to the Executive Director Educational Delivery, you will lead the educational programs and initiatives in Clean Economy for the organisation, including the development of new capability and courses.

You will provide leadership and expert advice to the Chief Industry and Education Officer (CIEO), and more broadly the Education Delivery Executive and Directors, to position Bendigo Kangan Institute to be an industry leader of vocational education in Clean Economy to meet current and future skills demands.

Additionally, with an industry centered approach, you will develop and maintain effective relationships with key industry players to establish partnerships and co-design new offerings that meet employer needs.

You will have overall profit and loss responsibility for Clean Economy program offerings and employ the practices and methodologies set by the CIEO.

The position involves innovating, facilitating and mentoring as well as strategic development and change management.


To be successful in this role, you will be a leader with experience conceptualizing, leading and implementing Clean Economy strategies and programs in education or aligned public sector environments.

Experience in industry-based projects focus on clean economy transition is essential. You will bring deep knowledge of the current trends, research and best practices in Clean Economy or Clean Economy.

You are highly regarded for the strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to use data-driven insights to inform decision-making.

Importantly, you will have extensive experience engaging and collaborating with government, industry and SEC to develop programs to meet industry needs.
